markymarkthetart Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 I have a window that is easily accessible and during the hot summer nights this window has to be left open. I can not install security grilles etc due to listed building planning laws. I am looking for a device to add to my security alarm that could detect someone coming in without any false alarms, I don't want to use a pir because of false alarms and the room is slept in sometimes. I have looked at several infrared red beams and wondered if anyone had come across this before? Thanks for any advice Mark
leesutton Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 You will be better off fitting a shock sensor to the window frame, so if people bang the frame it will trigger the system. No matter what you fit will need to be set up properly as to trigger your system correctly. lee Lee Sutton E-Mail: leesutton@centurianfire.co.uk Website: www.centurianfire.co.uk Phone: 0845 094 9870 CENTURIAN FIRE & SECURITY (part of centurian group limited)

Thanks for any advice Mark It's normally possible to use a standard door contact on a window, if it's placed closer to the hinged side of the window the window has to be opened further to trigger the alarm, I would have it programed for 24 hour as well if it were me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones!
