basilb Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 If you use the advanced options to set regions with different motion sensitivity will it overide the regions you setup under the basic system configuration options for motion detection? You don't need to remove motion masks in the basic setup? Also is the motion detection more effective in the middle of the monitored area? I ask because it sometimes seems the movement on the outer areas is not detected as consistently. Thanks.
CCTV_SUPPORT Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 The Advanced motion settings will indeed take precedence over the standard Motion detection settings. The motion detection is equal across the camera view. Could it be that when on the edge of the camera the subject is taking up less of the camera view because they are further away?

It could be because they are further away. One particular camera has a lot of distant background away from the centre of the view. I like to see if anyone is moving in those areas although I can't see detail because of the distance. Maybe the quality of the lenses impacts as well because I am only using cheaper dome cameras albeit with Sony 1/3 super HAD chips.
