dunt
i worked until 630pm Monday night to Finnish a new intruder system in a shop, got it up and running & then the manager says he is off work tomorrow and the member of staff opening up wont know the code so better not set it tonight. i dropped in the next day to Finnish some trunking and.... the place had been broken into that night ! spoke to the manager yesterday and he was totally gutted. he kept on saying "if only id set it & rang the other fella to give him the code" i really feel for the chap, i also spoke to the owner of the shop & he just said sh*t happens. I'm glad i had at least stayed to get it up & running.

I helped fit a large site with external cctv cameras, however..........The spark never turned up to it the spurs. The owner o the site still insisted we put the cameras in he housing to save time. After the weekend we returned to wire up and set up. BUGGER.....! Some fooker had pinched all the cameras !!!!!!! Cost him a fortune to replace them all. Alarm Co
done cctv today for david wilson homes > they had ,had youths come onto site pinched all the deisel, set fire to dumper truck , and pulled dash out of fork lift to try and start it, so with that and lost production on site due to the machines beeing out of action they recon it cost them 30,000 so the big boss's now barret thought it a good idea to have three dome cameras fitted a lcd monitor a dvr with cd burner and a nice little cabinet to secure it in , only to find when all fitted and tested that the cabin was on a jenny and switched off at midnight when the security goes home ? topalarms
Fitted one on a large warehouse (double unit) and trades moved in leaving all their tools on site. Alarm went off overnight and keyholder attended and drove round the outside, "#%$*$# useless alarm only been in one day and trouble already." Hi didn't realise that a door had been forced and closed again behind the villains so he drove home - all the trades tools & kit stolen, he was sick as a pig in the morning for doing nowt. dunt
i know 2-3 members of the staff on a personal level and id safely say i was no inside job, but you can never be certain. the other thing that i have realised is that a lot of locals would know me, and would have saw me working in the shop running cables. i fear now my competence as an alarm engineer/fitter might be under scrutiny even though i had the system finished and the manager chose not to set it. sure as hell locals will be asking "did the alarm not go off ???" i just hope the manager will be telling the truth despite the embarrassment. djandysp
We had 1 a few weeks back, someone had taken a still saw to the side of an alarmed portacabin dropped the safe out which in turn set the alarm off but by the time the police turned up they were gone. Still amazes me to this day that nobody heard a thing!!!!
