chrishewer Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Hi, Anyone able to give me some advice? During the early hours when there was a heavy frost one of my two bell boxes (Tate) of my intruder alarm (Melcom) started intermittently sounding for short bursts (few secs max) in no regular pattern. It went on for a few hours and now it has stopped - ?starting to warm up?. I tried putting the alarm on engineer setting, however despite this it continued to sound. I assume that it must be a local fault in the bell box which hasn't triggered the tamper loop. What is the likely problem in your experience? Thanks Chris
leesutton Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Some bell boxs dont have a cover over the circuit boards and over time the board and sab module get damp and short, get a decent bell box......... risco or texecom lee Lee Sutton E-Mail: leesutton@centurianfire.co.uk Website: www.centurianfire.co.uk Phone: 0845 094 9870 CENTURIAN FIRE & SECURITY (part of centurian group limited)
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 tate ? sounds like Risco made to me possibly you`ll need to fit a link (details are in the instruction sheet) if not there just old and got water damaged and will need changing IMO
spider Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Points to a intermittent positive feed at the sounders PCB board, looks like the laddders are coming out!
Alarm Co Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 sounds like lid tamper opening and closing maybe due to cold warping lid or metal spring on tamper activating sab did panel show a tamper
