Quartz Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Following on from this thread, I've noticed that the arming noise isn't as loud as it used to be. Is this significant? I probably touched a pot or two inside the unit at the time.
ViperMK2 Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 How loud are we talking and where from. Is it only the keypad sounding or is the speaker just quieter. if it's only the keypad sounding then maybe a bad connection on the speaker terminals in the panel or at the speaker, if it's a quiet speaker then maybe you have turned the volume pot down in the panel. As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?
Quartz Posted February 17, 2008 Author Posted February 17, 2008 Is it only the keypad sounding or is the speaker just quieter. The latter. I'm actually quite happy with the lower noise per se, I'm just concerned that it might be an indicator of a fault.
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 get it checked 800l with a dodgy loudspeaker piccy
Quartz Posted February 17, 2008 Author Posted February 17, 2008 get it checked 800l with a dodgy loudspeaker piccy Thanks - I'm sure I would have spotted that but I'll check it again tomorrow (during daylight).
Guest anguscanplay Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Thanks - I'm sure I would have spotted that but I'll check it again tomorrow (during daylight). thats after the fire, not why the sounder went quite - what resistance reading do you get across the speaker cable
Quartz Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 thats after the fire, not why the sounder went quite - what resistance reading do you get across the speaker cable I don't have a multimeter to hand to test it. Before, the interior bell was easily audible through the front door when arming. Now it's just audible.
