Gardtec Alarm Zone Attributes

Hi

I have wired in a PIR to the panel, using the EOL method.

Can someone please tell me what setting i need to set it up correct.

I have it set to 24hr, then NORM, but the sensor does not detect anything when i put it on test mode.

If i change it to -remove, it all works.

But with the alarm in standby, as soon as the PIR detects you it sounds a fault.

I also have it set to ELF 1

Can someone please advise.

If it's on 24hr, then it will activate the alarm each time the PIR is triggered. 24hr hour means it is monitored 24-7 whether the alarm is set or in day mode.

As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?

Thanks Viper, that makes sense now.

What about the other settings, should it be on ELF1 or normal ?

Should it be set to 12hr norm or 12hr -remove etc etc ?

I have a eurosec cpx with LCD RKP.

your presented with 3 options on power up, the old BS, ELF1 and ELF2.

if you choose BS (for BS4737) you can still select EOL from the zone wiring options, where as ELF1 i think this option is prevented.

personally, i would only select BS if i required a double pole 'loop' system for soe reason, like an emergency takover of an old or diy system if i was pushed for time, but would go back later fit ressistors and so on. has a some other programming effects, but won't bore you here.

as for zone type

NIGHT is for zones armed normally and will sound sirens instantly when the system is set, so Lounge, Master Bedroom, Landing etc. likely most detector zones but see below.

EE (exit entry) usually front door or any detector which is 1st to activate on your normal entry, also the last on exit to allow a delay enough time for you to set/unset from a keypad and get from/to it.

ACCESS is for detectors on the route from the front (or side door) to the keypad like a hall pir

PT EE is for zones which act as final exit/entry when the system is 'part set' for bedtime, this attribute is often used on the hall pir, or on the kitchen if no hall detector, to prevent false alarms due to absentmindedness. on full dset they behave as 12 hour

PANIC is for fixed buttons, used in times of duress (no, not when the wife forces you to do the vacuuming  )

Part Set (1,2 or 3) is a method to disable a zone or a set block of zones easily, this would likely be the landing and master bedroom on part set 1, with part set 2 used to set the garage and/or shed only.

any zone showing in this option is disconnected in part set, so be very careful you have your zone list correct before you start and you know which zones should be 'off' for each option.

and he means EN1 or EN2 - End of Line Format1 is a totally different set of commands ( it choses which style of EOL you use)

I think ELF 1 and 2 are for the fault/masking options.

ELF1 is classic 3 way resister NC eol but ELF2 is for transistorised switches
