Hi guys, a question for you. I have Scantronic 9448+ alarm panel with a A2Z smoke detector which threw its hand in; so I went to my usual alarm supplier and bought a replacement smoke detector which was a Hochiki CDX range model SLR-E on a YBO-R/12v base.

Now I believe this smoke detector is latching only so the question is: with the 9448+ panel set to autorearm 3 times will the latching smoke detector prevent the autorearm??

thanks

Why would you want the panel to re-arm following a fire?

The panel will do one of 2 things:

1: Will trigger as soon as it resets, and will do this 3 times.

Re-Arm

The Installer can program the control panel to rearm itself after an alarm.

With this option selected, the panel silences the alarm at the end of its

programmed time and rearms ready for another activation. If the option is not

selected, the internal and external sounders will remain silent until the user

enters their access code. The panel can be programmed to rearm up to three

times, or always.

2: It might but i doubt it, reset ommiting the still triggered smoke detector.

Thanks for the info, I think it will either trigger straight away or prevent the reset.

What I am trying to do is to make sure the system rearms itself if the smoke detect is a spurious one (obviusly if the house has burned down the system reset will be the least of my worries...)

a2z smoke detectors do have the facility to be non latching. all u do is remove the black jumper link on the head itself.
