iSTORM Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Why would it need a battery if it would operate without one? I still come across systems installed im my area by a supposedly Quality Company where they still install c type bell box's with a sounder, strobe and 4 core! so yes a bell will operate without a battery but its not working as an sab, the battery in your bell box is your last form of defense againt a panel attack! Maybe a bell fuse in the panel (BEWARE 240V IN PANEL) or the board in your bell box has gone! Either way you need an engineer! My Name is Iain iStorm Security Solutions Visit My Website

arfur mo Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 everything works except the outside bell and strobe, alarm is back in daily use with internal sounder at full volume.. All i want to understand is whether the bell needs a working battery in it to operate correctly? were it not for my ladder phobia it would be sorted! the siren will operate with a duff or no battery (i don't know of any that don't ), but it would not then be self protecting. the idea is if the panel is ripped off the wall during an intrusion the siren still sounds from its own power source ergo the battery has no effect on the strobe operation either tbh just get in a pro and save on the grey hairs and vertigo regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
