alarmed17 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 HI everyone, we have just bought a house and it has a gartech 800 alarm it was all working fine then it came up with service due in 2 weeks, please call engineer, the problem is we cant get hold of the contact the old owner of the house used. is there a way to disable the warning/time out. as far as i am aware its not a monitored system, we have the user and master code but thats about it.
arfur mo Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 HI everyone, we have just bought a house and it has a gartech 800 alarmit was all working fine then it came up with service due in 2 weeks, please call engineer, the problem is we cant get hold of the contact the old owner of the house used. is there a way to disable the warning/time out. as far as i am aware its not a monitored system, we have the user and master code but thats about it. hi, this is a 'service due' reminder, unfortunately after 14 days it might 'lockout' the panel from further use. you need a decent gardtec aware engineer to remove the setting, as it's done from engineer mode. you need a 'gardtec' engineer as also quite likely the installing engineer/company have 'locked' the engineer code which will prevent access and removal of this setting without the know how. i don't personally set this timer up unless asked to by the client, and alarms should be service preferanly every 12 months so this may well have happened with the previous owners, and may not just be a ruse to make more money for the installer. either call a few local companies or i'm sure some on here local to you will make contact shortly. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
