Howi Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Is there any real solution to motion triggered by rain?
arfur mo Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Is there any real solution to motion triggered by rain? yes, mount the camera's - indoors you could adjust the sensitivity depending on the kit, but like using 'double knock' on alarm systems you will lower the security level so you need to be wary. if masking is available then try to mask out large sources of likely movement like trees and bushes in the wind, just be very careful if you use both techniques, tbh i'd recommend bigger hard drive and suffer the 'false' recordings if it is a real issue, as like sex - far better to have over activations than miss the vital event. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Alpat Systems Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Use external detectors instead of the built in motion detection eg: http://www.gjd.co.uk/cctv.htm http://www.optexeurope.com/Site/temPW3_001...&intLevel=5

Howi Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 guys, 4 indoor , 4 outdoor have as much masked off as i can and sensitivity is on its limit. big enough hard disk so may have to grin and bear it, just hate to see false records! might look at the external detectors, for that.
Alpat Systems Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Hi Alan, Never used Risco, we tend to stick with GJD & Optex. I've just had a look on there website though and they look pretty good for the money. I'll get one in and put it on test. hi alpat, you tried out RISCO's WatchOuts yet? really impressive also they do a radio version with stand alone receiver all can be pole mounted too regs alan
