Depends on the panel, some panels have individual zone and tamper and some have a global tamper where all the tamper wires are connected in a 'ring' with both ends terminated in each of the two panel tamper inputs.

thanks for getting back so quickly the panel has just two conectors for all the tamper zones but a total of x8 individual zones eg pirs, doors etc.

We need more info especially what panel you're using and which colours you are using for the circuits. do you have a test meter? Put a direct link between the 2 tamper terminals (short piece of wire) and see if it clears.

As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?

this is really very simple to sort out,

remove all the connections to the tamper and fit a link, make sure the panel then works ok.

test each tamper pair for a 'loop' of a few ohms. any that are open circuit (i.e. no loop) check the associated lid contacts are properly depressed on the detectors

wire all the loops in series, test again for a loop, then the free ends into the tamper connectors, obviously removing the link.

here is the info requiered cef ap28 control panel and the colours im using are red 12v+ ,black 0v- ,white alarm loop + ,orange alarm loop -,yellow tamper ,green tamper.

the conectors on the panel are as listed 24hr tamper x2 termials then x8 sets of zones ,the bell conector is has tamper r and -,bell+,s-,st-,ext spk - +

hope this helps

Get a connector block and start with the tamper pair on zone 1. Put white in connector block terminal 1. Twist the orange from zone 1 and the white from zone 2 together and put int block terminal 2. Orange from zone 2 and white from zone 3 twist together and put in block terminal 3 and so on until you should have the orange wire left on zone 8 in the last terminal block.

From the 2 terminals 24hr tamper wire in a white and orange wire and connect into the 1st terminal block and last terminal block on your connector block.

This is wired in series.

Hope this helps but im useless at drawing pictures on the computer
