arfur mo Posted February 29, 2008 Posted February 29, 2008 many thanks this is going to be my saturday afternoon head in a cubord away from everyone days not really, even as a novice, with the above advice taken you should sort it within 5 minutes, don't let frustration set in just remember the fault is a logical result of an illogical action, so a logical approach = a logical answer = logical remedy hic! damn the wines good tonight B) regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
awadynamo Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Get a connector block and start with the tamper pair on zone 1. Put white in connector block terminal 1. Twist the orange from zone 1 and the white from zone 2 together and put int block terminal 2. Orange from zone 2 and white from zone 3 twist together and put in block terminal 3 and so on until you should have the orange wire left on zone 8 in the last terminal block. From the 2 terminals 24hr tamper wire in a white and orange wire and connect into the 1st terminal block and last terminal block on your connector block. This is wired in series. Hope this helps but im useless at drawing pictures on the computer right then with my stupid head on what do i do with the green and yellow wires that are my tampers from the pirs etc? or should these be my trigger wires?
arfur mo Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 right then with my stupid head on what do i do with the green and yellow wires that are my tampers from the pirs etc? or should these be my trigger wires? the problem you have is on the tampers -so why are you asking about the 'trigers'? you have already wired in your alarm zones, now you need to sort the tampers out so don't get yourself confused. simply connect the geen of the 1st cable to the white of the second cable, then the green of the second cable to the white of the third cable until all greens and whites are connected in 'series' ( or as a ring you earlier referred to). measure the 'free' white and green ends for a circuit, if a low resistance is confirmed i.e. a loop, place the white in one tamper terminal and the green in the other tamper terminal. all you are doing is replacing the factory fitted link with the 'loop's' provided by the tamper circuits which are in series, and that info is printed in the installation manual. tbh while not trying to be rude to you, if your still struggling after all the above advice then your best to call in an engineer to complete it for you, as i fear your lack of understanding and comprehension of what is very basic electronic wiring principles will leave your security in a very low state of effect. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
