Alarm Protection
I would suggest you go for a Gardtec CPX with wireless receiver. Install the panel using the 8 wired zones and fit the wireless receiver as close to the area where you will install the wireless devices. You can test signal strength from these devices aswell. As for beams you do get a wireless PIR detector from Gardtec/Risco but without knowing the layout of your garden i could not say. We use the XS3d bellox but if you post the connections for both devices then we will be able to tell you how to connect it up. On the other hand why not get a few quotes from alarm companies as you might find it better to get the system professionally installed. The CPX also has the facility to call your mobile/landline if the alarm has activated. !

Jim
With the beams i would go for a Gardtec 595 with an expander, 8 wired zones and with wireless. Hi Scotish Engineer... I have had a brows at the Gardtec 595 panel insatllation manual and it appears far to suffisicated for my needs. All I have at the moment is a panel with one user code to set the system either full or partial set. I don't need anything else apart from the ability to install wireless additional pir's to the garage and garden shed. To reitiate my current system is wired. The posibility of installing beams in the future may be considered. Can anyone help please? Regs Jim
