sparkydom Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Hi, Was on a site this week with a Notifier ID2000 8 loop panel. I had Sounders and all Outputs disabled. Zone 1 in test mode, had tested around 20 smokes no problem Then I wondered into another zone (not on test) and smoked a detector.........Bells sound even though disabled. Is this a common S/W problem with these panels or a deliberate feature? Just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences with this This site has had some odd loop probe before, but not with isolations such as this in advance Dom

All software has diffrences, I'm not sure what this one does... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones! Just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences with this This site has had some odd loop probe before, but not with isolations such as this in advance Dom A while since I worked on one of these but from memory I think that if the panel is in test mode the disablements on the sounders are over ridden if you hit a zone not in test (in fact,Im sure of it now).
Bell box bob Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 This is normal operation on these panels you have to put each zone in walk test otherwise like you found out when you stray from the zone lol it makes a right racket!!!
jockney Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 the lights of the zone under test poll differently, on a zone in test mode, oh yeah, dont test call points when in test mode, the bells will ring ! at least on a notifier afp4000.

[/quot] Yep you are all pretty correct, however if you isolate sounders after youve put the zone in test ,sounders dont usually sound ut to be honest this panel has no problem coping with at least 30 plus heads at once in fire ,so you may as well isolate aux and sounders and forget test mode. this is the same for the honeywell variant of this panel
