spottydog2002 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hi, I recently bought a house which was re-wired just before we completed the sale. Whilst re-wiring the alarm started to go off and the only way the electrician could stop it was to remove the fuse from the back. When I asked the estate agents to find out the code from the previous owner they said that he did not know the code as he just rented the house out to other people. We therefore cannot use the alarm unless I can reset the code. I have managed to get a copy of the manual but it only tells you how to do it when already knowing the previous code. Without this it just tells me to contact the installer but I don't know who this is as the previous owner did not leave me this information. Does anyone know how I might be able to reset the code myself as I haven't done much about it up to this point but I have been reading that there have been a lot of burglaries in my area recently so I am now quite keen to get it up and running! Can anybody help?

neekey Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 Take good advice and buy a new panel, optima is a difficult panel to remove code from, I have never succeeded yet. Battery will also need replacing Neeks
Alarm Protection Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 The Optima is an easy panel to programme and change codes etc. I would advise you to get an engineer out and he will default/programme the panel to what you want. Also your panel should be serviced and checked. !
