Hi all, I have just recommissioned my alarm, I replaced zone 2 contact with PIR and powered up as necessary, all lit as expected. I did the walk test and PIR is sensing OK as are all other zones.

What Im curious about is when omitting zones. Zone 2 doesnt light up??? All the others do. Zone 2 lights ok during the walk test, any ideas, regards, Jason

Was the contact on your main entry/exit door by any chance? If so, and the zone is programmed as entry/exit, you are'nt normally able to omit E/E zones.

No. Zone 2 is the kitchen, I didnt want contacts on the patio doors, so I replaced with PIR. Since you mention it, zone 1 lights with the others when omit is pressed, I have successfully omitted all zones before, I could understand not being allowed to omit entry exit, but its not an option Ive programmed in.

Some additional info, when the alarm is set zone 2 doesnt activate the alarm?? This afternoon, I opened up the box and put the wires onto zone 6, programmed out zone 2 and programmed in zone 6. Walk test gave six beeps.

Set alarm, tried to omit, zone 6 doesnt light :(

Let alarm set, and tried to activate PIR, nothing happens, does anyone have any idea?

I checked continuity, and there is nothing between tamper cct and pir cct

Hi Jason: When you did the walk test, how did you know that the PIR was activating? Was it by any chance due to the light on the PIR lighting or did someone stand by the panel for you?. Going on your description of the fault it may be a good idea to check that you have not got the Tamper and Zone wiring reversed, in the PIR.

Hi there, I have used green and yellow on the tamper cct, blue and red on the alarm cct, and black and white on the supply. I disconnected everything and meggered every wire, no shorts at all. I ran the brand new cable in a new suspended ceiling direct from the panel to the pir.

Its really starting to annoy me now. cheers anyway, Jason
