keithj Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Can anyone please advise ? My A1 RF 8000 wireless alarm went off in the middle of the night. I managed to switch the alarm off. However, due to the rude awakening, and the the panic of a large stick and me checking for intruders, I did not notice the LED sequence on the control panel, and I think I had to have a couple of attempts at pressing the right buttons, to make the alarm shut up !! So I don't know what triggered the alarm, or what zone was activated, and I may have inadvertently "pressed the wrong buttons!" (although I'm pretty sure that I only used the number buttons for the personal code, and the reset button.) There were no breaches of the property, and no pets etc to set off the system. For info, zone 1 is the entry zone (door sensor); zone 2 has 2 PIRs programmed; zone 3 has 1 PIR; and zone 4 has 1 door sensor. Zone 5 has nothing programmed to it. The remote control is not programmed, and has never been used. I now have a problem as follows: ... (1). When I press "reset" then type in the personal code, All 5 zone LEDs flash (green) and the "exit tone" sounds. The "mains on" LED is lit, all the time. If I press "reset" again, the panel reverts to normal, with just the "mains on" LED lit. There are no other indications; no low battery lights, or tamper warnings etc. (2). I cannot get the panel to show "event replay" so unfortunately I cannot tell what originally activated the system. Can anyone please tell me how to get the system working again, or what may have caused the problem? Many thanks, keithj.
inglishg Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Without getting my full user instructions from my files, I can't give you the sequence for recalling the log. However I would question why you have two PIR's on one zone, and then fail to use Zone 5. Without any first-to-latch confirmation you're going to be stuck if ever diagnosis is required, of any faults. Presuming Zone 5 is a 12hr intruder zone (or can be programmed as such), I would split the two PIR's onto their own zones. HTH
iSTORM Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Yes i agree if you have to detectors doubled up on one zone, and have a spare zone..why not use this zone for your detector it will help diagnose the fault. My Name is Iain iStorm Security Solutions Visit My Website
