Saraneus Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi all, I have a Veritas 8 compact alarm system. It has been instsalled around 8 years and has never been serviced. Recently I noticed the box was getting hot and about a week later it stopped working. I opened it up and noticed that the live wire had snapped at its terminal, also the fuse had blown. I repaired the wire and replaced the fuse and it worked for about 6 hours and then died. (Still running hot) Obviously the battery is far past it's best but could it be causing the getting hot problem? PS, I have not opened it up a second time to see if the fuse has blown etc again. I'll have a closer look tonight. any help appreciated..
FASTCAR Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi , Yes your panel has to work harder to charge your flat battery , so replace asap. Also make sure there is a free flow of air from bottom to top , (you havent decorated around it have you?). Regards.
