Hi guys just about to put a quote in for a cctv system containing 1 X DVR, 3 X PTZ domes, 1X Monitor and ptz keypad aswell as power supplies and so on. They want me to price a maintenance contract on the system but have never done one before. any advice on pricing it, also is it best to offer total loss (defect) on everything estimate it would cost

Hi,

Their are differing formulas to cost mtce, some use a set % of the installation cost, others a % cost per individual piece of equipment with labour etc, then differing level of remedial service including call out times if working for a non UKAS affiliated Co, and if proposing a fixed term maintenance agreement e.g 5 years, look at the life cycle costs of each piece of equipment to help with the calc.

I don't know what equipment that is installed/about to be installed?, but it appears to be very cost effective (cheap!!) so I would suggest you mark up any value you have in mind to refelect the possibility of early equipment failure, ( check that the client is prepared to wait for a repair/return, otherwise you will have to provide a hot spare during the warranty period).

Hope that helps

I would nevr offer fully comp on a CCTV system

3rd Party only, all callouts and labour chargable.

?

so i would replace hardware under the contract but charge for the labour and call outs as an extra?

I'd look on it as your expecting 6 years out of CCTV equipment so i'd divide the total installed cost by 6 to give the annual price.

Also that would be on condition of at least 1, preferably 2 services per annum at a cost of around
