Hi all and anyone. Have just 1st commissioned the veritas r8.

In PROG mode, walk test: led 1 lit and repeated single beep. (all other zones beep and light correctly when activated)

i have powered down and up to restore factory settings to no avail.

i have now removed all zones and put all zone links back (all other wiring to bell, rkp, tamper etc in place) - same 1 beep repeating on led 1 on rkp.

any ideas or is this new panel goosed. .?

Off on holiday tonight and would like to have it working if poss..

cheers for looking

Sounds like there is a fault with the panel if it is showing Zone 1 as open with the link fitted. What you could do as a temporary fix is move the old Zone 1 detector over to, say, Zone 8 for the time being, and just omit Zone 1 when you need to set the system.

I dont think its a zone 1 fault tho - cos i put all the links back in?

is it def Z1 and not the tamper LED?

try doing a factory reset - instructions are in Eng manual.

Also make sure Batttery is ok

If the panel is showing the Zone 1 LED with a link in Zone 1, then there is a panel fault. As I said, swapping the detector on Zone 1 (which there is probably nothing wrong with) to another zone for the time being will work as a temporary fix, you will just have to go through the omitting proceadure to disable zone 1.

Tamper fault would be 9 beeps, if I remember correctly.

Battery and mains ok. all fuses ok. done factory reset. all zones linked (ie there are no active zones now). Still z1 led and single repeat beep at rkp..

.. ok. i will try this now: put all zones back in but link out z1 and omit it. Put 'z1' to new zone.

i do think it is panel fault, so not sure if it'll let me actually set the alarm...??

back a.s.a.p!

Did you buy new, from a shop? If so, take it back and explain the fault. They will give you a new one.
