bretthandley Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Hi, I wonder if anyone can help ..... I've just installed an X-Vision TDVR4 system and it was all working well for a few days - including remote network access to the camera images from a PC. I changed the access password (4 digit code) from the default 0000 and at first this was OK, but now the unit always responds with "password failure" every time I try to change a setting. Remote access from a PC still works fine using the same new password. (The password should be the same whether accessing via the front panel or across the network). The manual says that entering 1234 as the password will reset it to 0000 but this does not work. Whether I enter 0000, 1234 or the new password, I always get the "password failure" message. Accessing the DVR across my network, I can login using the new password, it does not change back to the default. I've tried the 1234 method over the network too, and that doesn't work either. Power-cycling the DVR does not change anything. Any suggestions for what to try next gratefully received because at the moment although the unit is recording and playing back OK, I can't change any of the settings without being able to enter the password. (I've asked the dealer I bought the unit from the same question and posted this query on another forum. I note the "support" tab on X-Vision's UK website doesn't seem to work otherwise I guess that would be the best place to ask.) Thanks, Brett

Thanks, Brett Hi Brett Sorry about the tab not working, that is being fixed right now, as for the password issue, I have checked with our technical team and they will need to speak with you to identify the cause, please PM me your phone number and they will contact you. Best regards Peter
