Never been a big fan of materblasters, loud yes but reliant on mains is a big no in my book as is any sounder that can be stopped with nothing more than a pencil!

Aritech AS390, now you're talking!

The last one I fitted was in 1993 and I swear I can still hear it!

Yes they were very loud, not sure if they they still make them.

They were like a conventional SAS but used a 12v sealed lead battery (2.1ah).

To be honest I don't know how loud they are compared to a master blaster but they were painful to work on if you were up the ladder when they activated.

Rofpmsl at some of those tales. Right then, time to research what sounder to have in the lounge, kitchen, garage, bedrooms and hallway! :-)

At least it'll help me identify the burglar as he'll have blood coming out of his ear drums ;-)

James

James, why don't you get a smoak cloak, blind the little thugs as well as perforate their eardrums!

i know this reads as if i am going mad , but what about a camera hidden or not, well positioned anyway. it being switched on when the alarm is activated. i guess being in you line of work all you would need is one decent mugshot.......

 then you could pop round to his /her local and have a quiet word B)

You can still get the Aritech sounders we still use em every now and then, if your on about the ones that go off when you drop voltage very loud was working on one yesterday as had to do a bty change, not as loud as Master Blasters but still bloody loud lol. Why dont you just get a bog standard internal siren (not a speaker) that'd be more than adequate in a house also in the unfortunate event of a fault the neighbours wont be trying to lynch you either.

I recommend these if you want a loud internal sounder:

Elmdene 400s

We fitted 3 of them along with a smoke cloak in a domestic a few months ago. They're unbearable when they go off!
