juldobson Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I have an SL8 G3 Intruder System. The box is starting to beep so I assume the backup battery needs replacing ? Can I do this myself (Newbie) without upsetting the system ? Do I just take the front panel off, take out the old battery and put a new one in ?? Or do I need an engineer. Sorry if this is a daft question ... Thanks
topalarms Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 Depends on the system programming - if it hasn't been serviced in the life of the battery get an engineer in to service it and replace the battery for you.
stevie Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 hi mate. on your system changing the battery won`t make any diffrence what so ever. the bleep will still be there. the beep is a service bleep. it doesn`t stop it working or anything. it just starts to bleep when you have switched the system on/off so many times. the only way to turn it off is to go threw the engineer programming. if you don`t know much about alarms i would suggest calling an engineer. the company who fitted it could tell you over the phone how to get rid off it. if its a few years old i would just call someone to service it and they will switch the bleep off at the same time.
