Hi guys -- thank god for this forum !

I have a household DSC PC1565 (or similar - Canadian ??) which has been reliable up until now

Has battery backup and was monitored back to base up until 24 months ago

about 10 years old

Have had a lot of alarms going off even when we are inside the house for no reason and the

monitor is supposedly not set and also during the day when we are not at home - so much so that the neighbours complained and we stopped setting the alarm altogether

Called installer who changed/removed tamper switch connection ???

Having doubts about this ? When we reconnect power the system resets and seems ok

for 5-10 minutes then beeps 3 times and power light comes on/flashes - it then beeps 3 times

every 10 minutes or so - very frustrating at 3am in the morning

Have now turned off altogether - could it be the back-up battery that needs replacing

any tips/ideas would be very much appreciated

Regards

Sorry if this model/type is not available in the UK

Yep its a DSC "Classic" panel..

If the panel is 10 years old it will need a new battery, as for the beeps if you have fully powered down the panel then you will need to set the clock again..

There is more details about trouble conditions on page 11-12 of the user manual (can't post a user manual) but if you haven't got one you can do a search on google for "PC1565" you will find one ;)

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

Dont know this panel but with others you have to power up irst then connect battery or connect battery first then power up???

Maybe it could be the batery fuse that has blown????

Hope this helps
