peterc2609 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Hi, I've been looking for a DVR, 4 channel, with Networking capabilities and Motion Detection, and PIR inputs... Ive seen these three: AverMedia EB1304NET AVTech 760 or 761 RapidOS RS3060 (www.rapidos.com.tw) Ay recommendations or ideas? The AV Tech only records at 25FPS while the avermedia does 50 I think...not sure whether this makes a hughe difference... Help?!?!? Thanks.

peterc2609 Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 OK.... What would you recommend for around the 200ish mark for a 4 way DVR, that can be networked, and send alerts/images/vids to an FTP server, based on motion detection or input from a PIR or alarm.

kuchars22 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Without even looking at any of the replies, I'd bet myself what the first comment would be! People are supposed to get help with their choices based on their budget, not necessarily what the best is out there or what other people have. I believe this to be a public forum, a forum for all who seeks help. Yes, all comments are welcome, but some are'nt very helpful to the O/P. You wouldn't want someone replying to your question on which car to buy between an Clio and a Fiesta, and they answer with some comment like: "Buy a BMW or Merc, they're reliable".

Service Engineer Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 As this is a trade based forum with numerous trade members I think the replies are what was to be expected. From the OP I'd assume that he'd just googled for a DVR and asked opinions on what we thought would best suit his needs of the 3 he fancied. Surely it isn't bad to ask more details from him or offer suggestions of our own. He mentioned no buget t'ill later and TBH not many of us would fit anything that cheap so aren't really in a position to offer opinions on what he asks. Any on-topic reply or suggestion is surely better than nothing. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)

Alarm Protection Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Peter with a limit on your budget go for the AverMedia unit with cameras. You will have to buy cable etc though to connect up. I have not used this unit but it sounds like your best bet.......unless you can get some more money from the budget????? !
