redrum Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Hi, how can i turn of the chime/alarm/buzzer off? had a power cut today for around 30min's then when power came back 25 min's later the alarm went off, all the sensors are lit. this is what i've done to try and stop the alarm. alarm/buzzer upstairs (disconnected 1 cable) to stop the noise. <<--- deafening panel downstairs (disconnected 1 +12v cable) main box (disconnected battery cable "red") i reconnected the 12v black cable and right now it's showing "PC" on panel and the sensors are all lit. how can i turn the whole thing off so it won't go on again at night. PS. what should the voltages be on the battery, and how long should i wait before testing. *Gardtech 370* thanks for any help. regards redrum

redrum Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 thanks for the replies. the alarm went off by itself again at 4.30 in the morning (no power cut as my computer was on), so re-connected back the wires and the battery and it stopped. the display panel was showing three horizontal lines like an "E". went to sleep at 6am, 15mins later the alarm again. took of the mains fuse out under the panel, disconnected 1 wire and it's off again. ordered a new battery. what voltage should the battery be. where does the alarm box outside the house get it's power? would like to turn it of till the battery arrives. @anguscanplay, when you say power everything down should i cut of the mains? ps. im in peterborough. around how much should i be quoted? i'll call my sister and see if she knows the code, after entering the code do i press "no" or "yes" or just the code only?

redrum Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 I think i fixed it, changed the master code by doing a reset to default mode. now it's showing "Un" just waiting to see if the alarm will go on. *when my new battery arrives, do i just pull out the mains fuse and connect the new batt? or do i need to input anything on the keypad*
arfur mo Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I think i fixed it, changed the master code by doing a reset to default mode. now it's showing "Un"just waiting to see if the alarm will go on. *when my new battery arrives, do i just pull out the mains fuse and connect the new batt? or do i need to input anything on the keypad* to fit the new battery you will ned to open the lid exposing yourself to harm from the potentially lethal voltages present in any main operated equipment, tampwering is not advised if hyou are not skilled in this matter. having withdrawn the mains fuse please use a secondary method of testing the mains is off such as a volt stick or good quality meter you KNOW how to use properly opening the lid will activate an internal tamper which can be canceled by using the code that you have defaulted the system to. once installed, close the lid restore the mains and type in your code, 'UN' should then be desplayed but if 'PC' shows this means it's indicating you have had a power cut, but that bits all in the user manual. tbo the 370 is a fairly sound if basic little panel and well worth getting it working properly by a local engineer for the sakes of say If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
