arfur mo Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 see i stand corrected lol theres been another simular suggestion to this using a fix zoom lens, but again dependent on budget several vendors offer a camera with built in zoom lens, if the vehicles are coming in central of the viewed field i'd possibly try to set it wide for general purpose then zoom in say on a radio detector signal. never tried it but have thought it a possibility. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Doktor Jon Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 not just because i was mentioned , but i'd vote the above as one of the clearest, illuminating and concise post's made in this forummany thanks Doktor Jon alan (note to self - i now must try much harder). Thanks for the vote arfur mo ... you're too kind! Just to throw a technical spanner in everybody's works, whenever I've been asked to set up a camera for number plate recognition, I only ever use a manual iris lens ... just because I can
