waddojohn Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Hi Guys, How do you change a Battery on a Rascal Super, and without the Alarm going off, awoke to the alarm sounding this morning at 6.24am, checked the house found no problems. The Control will not let me reset. No police siren, and only one yellow light on Day. It was installed by a company, I pay service every year, it has never been serviced or had a battery change in 13yrs. Thanking you for any help John

Thanking you for any help John batteries should be changed every 5 years "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old. james.wilson Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 It was installed by a company, I pay service every year, it has never been serviced or had a battery change in 13yrs.Theres your issue, if you pay for it, you should have had it. A battery chnage and test is only one part of the service and should be done. May i ask what you have been paying for this service, ie what were you getting? I would advise you dont chnage it yourself as it may null any contract you have, and IMO assuming normal service company type then it should have been done. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
waddojohn Posted June 8, 2008 Author Posted June 8, 2008 batteries should be changed every 5 years This is what I have found out on this forum, my paid upto date service engineer maynot come to this forum to know that, or willing to honor the contract. So How do I change the Battery, without tamper alarm going off . There is a fuse block underneath the Rascal Super will this isolate, if I remove the fuse?? Thanking you for all your Help John
Guest anguscanplay Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 So How do I change the Battery, without tamper alarm going off . quite simply you can`t do it without the alarm going into tamper, I would advice calling the service firm out. Otherwise just enter your code once you`ve removed the lid

Copout answer to the service routine, " Nothing can go wrong with this system, has never serviced any before" My problem will be fixed today, but as the fault was caused by my mains, I will have to pay will read the agreement to see where I stand for when he arrives. I think finding a new service company is on the cards after his visit. Thank you for all your advice John I pay

Never happened. Possibly would have kept on paying if I had not found this webpage, contract renewal is Next year in May. Don't think so, will have to find a service company that will honor its contract on the Rascal or even update to a newer system. I will post his responce after he calls today. Thanking you for all your Help John
james.wilson Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 agreed, IMO service contract = service, while i can see that somethimes its impossible to be in to have the system serviced you may miss one but none in 13 yrs.... Oh and nothing can go wrong? 2 questions then. 1, its not gone wrong then? 2, why does it need a service contract? Of course they go wrong eventually and those never serviced much quicker... but fair play to it 13 yrs... never serviced.... its done very well IMO securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
