HI

I have had a Gardtec 872 installed with 3 Areas on it.

Yesterday i set areas 1 and 3, all set fine. Later on in the evening, area 2 was ment to be set. The user presented the fob to the panel, which we thought would set the unset area. But it had the opposit affect, and unset the whole system.

Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to set the last area?

I will call my install company in the morning, but if anyone can shed any light on this i would appreciate it.

cheers

How many keypads do you have? Sounds like the fob is proged to set/unset all areas, get them to set you one up that is only for area 2.

ps: how long has it been in and has this happened before?

Thanks for your reply.

The system was installed ths week, and this is the first time we have needed to set areas at different times.

Their are two keypads, and the fobs are all set for all areas, as the same staff need access to all areas.

The guy that installed it said that presenting a fob would set all unset areas, which is obviously not the case.

Is their an easy solution or should i get them to unset the system and reset it?

cheers

whats the point in areas then? if you set and unset all areas? and all staff have access to all? is it for stock rooms or another area that would be armed when the other isn't?

As it's a new system under both warranty and no doubt a service contract I strongly advise you do nothing which may invalidate it.

Give the installation company a call as you suggested and allow them a reasonably oppertunity to rectify any set up fault.

The reason we have areas is that we have 3 venues covered by the system, which are open at different times of the day.

All staff do some type of work in each venue, so they need to be able to set and unset each area. Hence the reason they all have access on their fobs.

I will give the install company a call in the morning. I just wondered if their was a simple option that you guys knew of.

Thanks for your Time

you should have been taken through the very important keyholder procedure on handover

you need to re-allocate the fob to the area concerned, this is done from master user mode.

you should have a generic Gardtec handbook hopefully suitably altered to better match your system by the engineer, in that manual it shows how to set up the user codes.

1st having establish which user location that fob is at, you can proceed to change its user authority level to be a user in the required area.

if you were not instructed, or were but feel unsure, please contact your installer for further specific guidance, as you might easily over write you master code barring you from any further access.
