arfur mo Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 hi guys, basically its an existing roller shutter with existing radio fobs. the client believes they have been compromised either by cloning with a scanner, multi code buster or a fob has been stolen. either way has asked if i can replace with a code secure type that can work with cars having a button and tx built in for this purpose. i don't need to faff with any power, just simply dump existing receiver and replace it with new as i have done in the past, its the use with car link i need info on. thanks in advance regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Alpat Systems Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 A few years ago I had a Clifford alarm fitted to my car, also had one of these fitted to control the garage door. http://www.gapsecurity.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ProductID=24
luggsey Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Do you mean you want to fit a button in a car so the remote is part of the car? If so just crack open a fob and remote mount the PCB in a box under the dash and dab on a couple of wires on the microswitch.. Sounds too easy tho...... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones! Sounds too easy tho...... no lugsey, the button and associated Tx is already installed into in this case BMW car, and others also have it as a feature apparently. normally i'd use visonic kit, just this button is a fly in th ointment. need to be sure it can't be done or risk looking stupid if some says it can. regs alan A few years ago I had a Clifford alarm fitted to my car, also had one of these fitted to control the garage door. http://www.gapsecurity.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ProductID=24 thanks Aaron, close, but it uses the clifford fob, i'm told the button is already in the car. to go this route all the cars who use the garage would need a clifford alarm. might be simpler to have a loop installed with transponders on the cars at the end of the day. regs Alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
Chorlton Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I've got one fitted in my car but don't have an automatic door nor any idea how it works & I'm not reading the car manual that's just for girls, lol. C.
james.wilson Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I have done this before with audi homelink, Assume the beemer one is the same. Basically on the car (visor maybe) will be the homelink control buttons, set this to learn (hold down the outer buttons) then press the garage door opener. It wont work on a rolling code as that is part of the reciever as well. Id assume if its on the beemer fob there will be some programming info for the fob in the car manual... ie homelink info is in my audi book. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
