Guest Guest_Chris Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 I am currently looking at intruder alarms and have narrowed my search to 2 possible types. Bosch VR8 system (now called SCP8) or the Yale HSA3500. Does anybody have any experieince or can advise which may be the best one. As I work for a subsiduary of Bosch I can get a good discount on their system but have not seen any reviews e.t.c for this system. I know Bosch are generally good products but the Yale system looks pretty good. Any feedback would be gratefully received. Alternatively any other recomendations ? Thanks Chris
norman Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 get a proper comapany in !! ;-) Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Guest Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Proper as in ?? Proper expensive ? Proper yearly service charges ? Seriously tho - I am not an alarm expert or prohess to be - I am however a chartered electrical engineer within the electrical industry and merely want to install a good system in my own home - myself. I am sure you installed your own system in your house ! As a portal fo the security instalation industry I thought maybe this was a good place to look - maybe I'm wrong and this is only for those in the know - knudge knudge wink wink. ))
morph Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 If I had to choose, I would go with the Bosch System, what steers you in the direction of wireless and not hardwired? But i would also have a look at systems by FM Electronics, Menvier and Scantronic before decieding on the system. Colin.
Guest Guest Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 If you must go wireless , have a look at the VP1000 (Powermax) system from BT . B)
DGMarsden Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Stick with hardwired if you want something realiable and reasonably priced. If you have compotence with electricity then you shouldn't have any problems.
norman Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 I am sure you installed your own system in your house ! Yes I did, and I'm rubbish Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
norman Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 (and so do all my taps, and the walls wont fall down, and the windows dont let drafts in) You obviously don't have the same tradesmen as me! Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
