j.paul Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Yes this is the 6 zone version. I have used these zones up already. I believe that I can add another 8 zones to this panel. But this is where the documentation lets me down again. I don't know what item to buy. i don't know if it sits in the same box or how it connects to the main board.Ian They are called "REM's" which are 8 zone expanders, think you can buy them as PCB's which will fit in the panel or as boxed REMs which you can place anywhere.. Don't take this the wrong way, but you may be better to get someone in to do the last bits etc There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

I'm currently a computer programmer, but before that I was an electronics design engineer. So i'm sure to make a balls of it! Edit: I want to put this REM in the same box. Just about the only place i've found on the web that sells the Abacus range is GX-security. They are only listing Boxed Rems. They are also listing a 32 zone memory card: MC-32-G2. Presumably this is a memory card for a 32 zone panel though. Another Edit: Looking further into it all, I'm now thinking that the MC-32-G2 is not just a memory card. And that it is actually an internal Zone Expander module. Can someone confirm/refute this please. Ian
HoofHearted Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 I've worked it out now. The memory board gives the system the ability to address a greater number of REMs. My basic panel can cope with 1 extra rem without the need for additional memory. After that, an MC32-G2 memory module can be plugged in which gives the system the abilty to cope with a total of 3 REMs. I only need 1 extra REM so I don't need any additional memory. I just need to identify the the Part No of a REM that will fit inside my existing case. But we diagress..... I still have my original problem. I can't make my panel do an intelligent set.
HoofHearted Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 Sorted it. For anyone who's interested here's what the manual didn't say.... I had the Exit Mode set as 'Final Door'. Intelligent setting requires 'Timed Exit', but also the 'Intelligent' sensor needs to be set as an EX/FX zone. It's always more dificult to sort out a problem when there's two things wrong. Ian
