CJS Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Hello all, I have just purchased a DM4 and need to find the Ip address to enable me to transfer the network software to my PC. I have looked in all the menu pages and cannot find it, also searched this forum with no luck. Also is the software compatible with a imac computer running 10.5 Leopard. Could someone please advise me. Any help would be appreciated.

sjonley Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Why not just go into the network setup via the dvr and configuring it to match your pc. Kind regards Stuart Onley SAMS Consultancy Independent Security Consultants email:enquiries@samsconsultancy.co.uk website:www.samsconsultancy.co.uk

CJS Posted June 22, 2008 Author Posted June 22, 2008 Thank you all for taking the time to answer, the reason I could not find it was it had not been set. I am not familiar with networking, and OK on your comments on it's use with a Mac. My other concern is the noise it makes, I purchased it to use at home, but the fan noise is very high. The fans run at full speed from first switch on is this normal. The noise is not of worn bearings, but just of forced air. Thank you all

Thank you all you takes your chances on this, but i have a sprite 9 way DM2 recovered during an upgrade to 16 way , the fans went were worn and noisy so i disconnected them intending to get replacenents. then it went out suddenly on emergency loan - 9 months ago with no fans and no problems to date.. so if it were me i'd disconnect them and use a laptop type cooling tray regs alan regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
james.wilson Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I wouldnt advise running it without fans, but you may consider fitting larger fans and a speed controller, and slow them down. Larger fans spinning slower shift as much air but make much less noise. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
