PeteH Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 We've got a Gardtec 300 Series alarm in our property. The previous owners didn't leave the code (and we cant trace them, nor can the agents!), and I understand there is obv. no way of overriding this code. Rather than pay to have a complete new system fitted, if I bought a 2nd hand 300 series (seen a few on ebay) (or any other Gardtec box for that matter) and fitted that, would this work? Any advice appreciated

PeteH Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 can be easily done but its an engineer function well the 2 local engineers Ive had out beg to differ. Any ideas on what I can do? The alarms working, sensors etc, it just cant be activated without the code and I could do without spending a few hundred quid at the minue
Chorlton Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Sorry can't help I'm afraid. As Angus says above it can be easily done but its an engineer function. I advise you try some other local "engineers" that know the panel you have. C.

If you connected, programmed and tested it correctly - and it was in good working order ... yes.

Any advice appreciated tbh the 300/350 panel was a pretty good budget diy panel, but is now very dated. for few quids more you could have got the far better cpx with voice dialer built in abd the way i'd advise you to go. with the new panel wi come the guides, but again if alarms is not your bag trust me csall in anv engineer, you no doubt wil get it working ith some hlp from us, but when on site an enginner can make it sing and fix it when it goes wrong.. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
