Guest anguscanplay Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 . There's no reason why a computer couldn't process this into 3D data and provide a fully 3D experience where you could fly round the suspect, and based on previous information the computer might intelligently be able to gather from frames it has already seen, it could build up a very much improved picture of a suspect's details, allowing you to fly in and "look him square in the face" to the resolution afforded by the best pictures that were gathered of him from all angles.Neil but then thats a manipulated image - be no good as evidence
xviz Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 but then thats a manipulated image - be no good as evidence I suppose you could say similar, in a way, about the upsizing software used by the police to get better detail out of images. It puts something in there that wasn't there before. As with all technology, as it becomes accepted, the law will start to accept it too. Imagine a situation for example where the computer manages to use multiple frames which catch partial regions of the face of a hooded intruder. It combines all these partials, and creates a full face for the intruder. Quite probably the technology already exists, although I'm sure there's "No Such Agency" involved
treasure Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Hi NeilThank you for buying an X-vision product. Sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing with the X-vision card, it does not sound like a hardware issue or a software issue, it may be a bandwidth issue. to help me fins a solution I would like to run a few tests please, can you PM me the IP address and login details so I can login and test it. Can you also confirm the following for me please: 1. Are you using the web browser or the Client Software to view the cameras? 2. In the Setup menu, under the Network tab, what is the Network Image quality and Speed set to? It is not a common problem that you are experiencing so I am not able to give you an instant answer, I can assure you however that I will get it resolved to your satisfaction! Best regards Peter Was this ever resolved? We are using the same card for a system and have the same problems.

xviz Posted August 24, 2008 Author Posted August 24, 2008 Was this ever resolved? We are using the same card for a system and have the same problems. Hi Sorry, I haven't been keeping an eye on this forum for a little while. Been really busy. Peter referred me to Y3K technical support who put a lot of effort into resolving the problem (Peter clearly gets action happening in that place!). They set up an identical system to the one I was running, to demonstrate that it would run fine. I tried accessing it on multiple connections, including one with 8 meg download, and was unable to get reliable performance from their remote video connection. They were having the exact same problem as I was. Given the time that I'd had it, messing about trying to get something fixed, they wouldn't accept it back for a refund. Seeing they'd been really nice and very helpful I agreed just to leave it at that. The card is brilliant apart from the one problem that network video transfer is unreliable. It'll do me for a situation where we don't need remote access, so won't go wrong. If you're interested in buying this card, I can recommend it whole-heartedly provided you don't need to access it remotely. If you need remote access though, look elsewhere! Neil
xviz Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Was this ever resolved? We are using the same card for a system and have the same problems. Been doing my research for a while, to try and come up with a better option. Decided on an Avermedia NV5000 Hybrid which, with a trade discount, was only about

Best regards Peter The software defaults at 32, and when you change it, as soon as you close and re-open the setup window, it is back at 32. Impossible to change. If you know of a reason for this bug, and it can be fixed, it might make the x-vision card I have, worth installing somewhere else! Re-coup some of the
