Guest markj Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 A neighbour was recently visited by bogus gas "inspectors" who were probably more interested in what they could steal than gas leaks. She felt threatened and vulnerable. We have Accenta 6 keypads. Would it be possibe to activate the alarm system really quickly and easily if "nuisance" callers were on the premises?
Guest dale Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Yep, the system has an input for a panic alarm, I would suggest placing one of these next to the door, that way you can just hit the button if you are feeling vulnerable. This is much less complicated than having to remeber how to set the alarm off from the panel.
FASTCAR Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Hi , Pressing 4 + 9 together at any keypad will give a Panic alarm.Or have a push button fitted to the dedicated PA circuit.
Guest dale Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I find many of my elderly customers do not enjoy using the keypad, and find it fairly complicated to turn the unit on and off, so giving them extra things to remeber when they are panicing is not what I would recommend, a simple red panic button that is prominent and simple would be much better.
