Gartec remote is only supplied to listed installers, you don't have to be approved as in NSI or SSAIB though - just trading. the software is download off their site and there ia a once only cost, you then load it and get keycodes from technical dept. you then need the dongle which works of a serial port or a usb to serial card (or better a pcmia card to serial converter). there is a further lead for the 490/590 ranges that support it. the dongles are at extra cost but not that expensive tbh. software is ok, very full of ability but also very slow working on 300 baud if udl all the settings takes about 12 minutes on a small panel, you can use a modem but only 2 of the profiles supplied actually work, one is a multimodem (now obsolete but gardyec will supply one, the other is a hayes can't remmember the model, and no you lapy modem won't work. depends how much gardtec you use and what size jobs, otherwise just use the keypad to program it as the most useful feature is checking the eol's are crrectlt set in the detectors . regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
arfur mo Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 If you get it, let me know ............ why? you can't use it even if he gives you a copy as you have to register the software via tech support. i've used it for some 15 years now, so any probs just ask me regs alan edit for ps the pennies are slow responding to gravity this morning - public sector//pro software If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
