arfur mo Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 OK, interesting comments. But what I want to know is what % of domestic alarm systems have a second keypad? Is it like 10% or 90%? Installers should have an overall view on this. When proposing a domestic installation quotation, do you recommend a second keypad? Ken personally, these days to my clients i recommend a rkp in place of the traditional landing pab, same cable run so same labour element, just the difference in cost between units. main reason is even duel push pab's get set off by inquisitive kids of all age's so why not remove the risk and add the convenience, i'm not usually up against a price with my client base. with current radio kit making big inroads means adding a radio remote/s which serve as a keypad for arming/dis-arming, so you need to add that into your assessments. some installs have several keypads - not tat unusual for them to be in the hall, by the back door, in the garage (x 2 on large garages), landing and master bedroom for instance, but bread and butter 2 up 3 downers? well i'd say about 10% of mine. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
