newhomeowner
Hi, I have just purchased a new house which has a Gardtec 300 series alarm. When I turn the power off it sets off the alarm. Am I right in thinking that it probably needs a new battery? If so is it something that I (who has no idea what he is doing) can change myself without annoying the neighbours too much? Any help would great. Thanks, Dan P.S Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, which it probably is!

Chorlton
Ok thanks,What a pain in the //.B.W.F.//. Why can't the battery just simply be changed as with any other appliance? Emm ,sorry? Just like anything in life it is simple - if you know how. I could give you a quick run through it but because you said "If so is it something that I (who has no idea what he is doing) can change myself without annoying the neighbours too much?" I advised no accordingly. Do you know where the control panel is? Do you know your user code to silence the alarm when it sounds? Are you OK around fuses/electricity? Do you know where you will get the new battery from? If you are OK with the above just say so. No need to get miffed/upset as that just means nobody will want to help you. C. newhomeowner
Sorry didn't mean to upset you! Yes I know where the control panel is, assuming thats the thing I put the code in to activate/deactivate the alarm? Yes I know the user code, but not the engineers code if that is needed. Yes I am ok around fuses/electricity. No I don't know where to get the new battery from, if you could please tell me what sort of battery I need i'm sure I could find one. A quick run through would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dan

newhomeowner
Thanks, Thats how I thought it would be done. I just didn't want to open the panel, set the alarm off and find that I had to enter a different code to the normal one to shut it up and hence not be able to. If I can shut it up by entering my normal user code, I will give it a go before forking out for a full service. Thanks again, Dan
