Rs485 And An Early Dm Sprite

old sprite will do pelco and some others on 485

there is a 9 pin serial connector on the back.

right hand side of the unit should be a green connector type plu labbeled rs485 on the unit, terminal type i think. connect to there, you need to set the dvr on seriel telemetry, reboot the dvr then programme the cam number to the corretc tlemetry as well. in the cameras own telem menu.

thats the later ds2 mate. The early ones didnt have that connector only the 9 way socket.

You can use them without a keyboard over the software but id agree a keyboard is pretty essential on any of em

oh right i didnt realise that only the newer models had the green conectors sorry ill crawl back under me rock :lol:

The customer told me there was no separate RS485 output on the early sprite and it was on latter ones that they had a separate connector.

I will ask him if it has a 9 pin serial connector.

Hi all.

I have a customer that wishes to use the PTZ protocol on an early DM Sprite to control PTZ equipment.

The PTZ needs to have the RS485 from the Sprite before it
