Adding 2nd Bell, Galaxy 2-20

I'm going to add a 2nd bell to my 2-20, the trouble is the bell's im using are Honeywell/C&K AG8's.

Im certain they are SAB only(unless I am mistaken), but I don't think the panel can supply enough current for more than one SAB.

I don't really want to use a seperate relay or use any of the other outputs on the panel.

Has anyone got any suggestions.

Many thanks

Dale

The sounders take 400ma, which is nearly the limit, I think I might have to move my zones and use one of the RIO 0 as an output.

Actually that 400ma quoted is combined sounder/strobe, so 230 for bell/170 for strobe.

Thats what I cant figure out, im not sure if it's via hold off or trigger. either way it uses quite a bit of current. there is not a lot of info on this bell.

I'll get the meter on it in the morning and see where it takes the bulk of the current, I cant trigger it now for obvious reasons lol.

Yeah it does take the current via hold off, and it's just a normal neg trigger bell/strobe.

So it can draw up to 400ma via strobe/bell, the other option is use the aux output, but thats only capable of 500ma so i'm limiting myself a bit.

Just to add this AG8 is the twin sounder version and no word of a lie I think I did my ears damage testing it out earlier, I really have not heard anything like it, im still in pain lol!, im tempted to take one of the piezo's out of the one which might bring the current down a bit.

I'd probably have a law suit for hearing loss if anyone did break in!!!!!!.

If you really really need an additional sounder , then I would suggest an extra power supply. Power all of you detectors, keypad etc, from this and use the panel supply for your sounders. The Galaxy panels supply up to 1amp which should be sufficient for 2 sounders though I'm not familiar with the AG8 and don't know what the current drain would be.
