IPAlarms Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I second that. Axis seem to be the market leaders for mid range cameras. Free Alarm Monitoring over the Internet from IP Alarms

IPAlarms Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Have a look here.... http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/default_Sh...?ShopGroupID=32 for low, mid and high end cameras. Free Alarm Monitoring over the Internet from IP Alarms
eoghanfla Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Have a look here.... http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/default_Sh...?ShopGroupID=32 for low, mid and high end cameras. I personally wouldnt be looking at sites like above. You say you have a PC sum, have you looked at an Axis set up to see where it sits in your budget. If you did that you would be able to tell people ya a 28 cam axis with a DVR is 30% over budget or whatever. This would help people to help you. There is one thing I can tell you about IP CCTV, dont do cheap. You would be better off convincing your client to wire in CAT6 or CAT& and to install a high quality traditional system running over twisted pair. The cabling would future proof for them when IP becomes more realistic and affordable. Is there a reason your client is insisting on IP? petethemanc Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Were currently installing a 25 camera job through ip. isn't cheap either, @ 50 grand. And apparently its the first time that telemetry audio video and alarms are being sent at the same time.
nrg13 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 We have had excellent results on smaller sites in using the Axis equipment. I would tend to agree with eoghanfla however. The range of equipment available that you could wire using TP instead of going IP throughout is phenomenal. Plus, the cost of the IP cameras is prohibitive in larger installations. Most of the features that clients want can be met by using an IP capable PVR, which would allow remote viewing, remote downloads etc.
