Guest anguscanplay Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 and any backstabbers you might get in to help you..... you know who you are ;-) ooh tell us more ............ just to put the other side of the coin for fairness, we ALWAYS pay a subbie on demand, same day and cash if he wants.

Guest anguscanplay Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 not here 30 days by invoice is how business pays business IMOwant paid quicker than 30 give additional discount. ti's the way of the business world I agree but subbies are different in my eyes, if they`ve done me a job they get paid. Mainly because I want to be able to keep ringing them and saying "that job next week the customers decided to get the plasterer in tommorow instead ....." and I know they`ll not let me down
Chorlton Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 agree completely. if any supplier goes beyond the call of duty they get paid more prompt etc. if it's a last minute job or especially helpful on site then absolutely no problem with chequs upon completion etc. c.
Mavrick_001 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 It's not all great as aid lol. As for the backstabbing comment, here we go.... I did some subbing for a guy who likes to have deposits and run off with the money, then when people are making threats he eventually starts the job and then leaves it half way through because he hasn't got the money to buy the kit with.... great hey.... then he'll order it with half the stuff missing and ask what kit I've got to help him (Baluns psu's etc etc) then he gets another guy to come and help out. He runs up a bill with me to the point where I say enough is enough, then the other guy says he won't do any more till he's been payed but keeps doing work.... then stops. Eventually after a few calls between us he says he has stopped work and we argree that neither of us will do anything until we have both been paid to look out for each other and so he can't play us off against each other buy paying one, getting more work done then paying the other and owing the 1st etc. Well this guy swears black and blue he hasn't done any work, the guy owes him money (I've been paid up now) and he's going to do this that and the other to him, I then get a call from a job we did saying it's playing up and by the way your mate is doing a job for him down the road lol, I call the guy to ask how he's getting on and if alright for work and he says he's still owed money, not seen him and he's wanting to batter him and all the rest of it.... makes you laugh... hopefully he'll sting him again, the other chap basically wanted to try and steal work from the outset. To top it off the guy who wants the work doing calls me to say have you seen anything of X and will you do some more work for me... lol YEAH RIGHT!!!! They're everywhere lads, just don't get bitten twice, I always try to look out for others and make sure they don't get ripped off becuase I've been there and they then go out there to pinch work from you.... makes you laugh doesn't it!! Zapp likes the cut of your gib young Mavrick! We don't know anything about their race, history, or culture, but one thing's for sure; they stand for everything we stand against. Rulland Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Do you write for 'Pixar' in your spare time ?.
ZappBrannigan Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Do you write for 'Pixar' in your spare time ?. Zapp does not spare time he kills it. Back when I was captain, all I asked from my men was their complete loyalty. If I had that, then for all I cared they could sit around the whole day drinking beer in their underpants. Now that was killing spare time. ZB.

davegreen Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Im chasing a final payment off a "mate" i did some work for. All was fine with stage payments until the job finished and hey presto, job done and no money yet! Going to have to become more persuasive about it now. Ive since learnt that there are no "mates" when it comes to business/ money, they are associates!
