We are a small company in Northern Ireland and have agreed to quote a company for maintenance who have 11 premises with 16 CH DVR and 16 cams on each system all done on RG59.

How would the best way be to quote for this, they are not happy with the current provider. All premises except 1 have geovision gear, other one is DM Sprite2, I dont want under price it and end up living in their premises but at same time would like the custom.

Premises are half hour drive from us.

We thought of charging an annual fee but not sure how to arrive at a fuigure, could we just charge per visit and charge whatever we use??

Thanks in advance folks

When we takover a system we dont offer comprehensive on the existing equipment. ie not the parts. You know how long a service and all the checks would take so charge for that, and maybe cover the labour only as well.

If it were a new install for us, we would charge between 12-15% of the install for a comprehensive service contract.

Be sure you define clearly what maintenance you are willing to perform under the contract and how much time that will involve. In doing that, you will probably get a better idea of what resources you will commit to. Also, set limits, i.e., will clean all cameras once per month, will do the following every month once only. In the event we must do more than that, the following rates will apply.

Then you will have a good idea how to price it. Add a management fee and overhead, and you are close. Most importantly, don't underprice.

Give yourself a one year renegotiation option, you can always re-qoute and explain why.

I would also check the geovision gear is legit, and not a clone card, as you dont want to be supporting a clone card - you could end up with lots of callouts due to issues caused by non-legit hardware. The cards have serials on the back, you can check with geo that they are legit.
