Hi all,

I've just joined this forum in the hope that someone can help me. I've moved into this house which has a TS800 Intruder Alarm fitted, the user manual was printed in 1992.

I want to disable the chime feature which is driving me mad, can anyone help? I've tried to make sense of the manual but its all too much for me, simple instuctions are what I need.

Whilst we're at it, I'd also like to know how to disable the whole system.

Please can anyone help?

Here is a not so good copy of a 1992 User Manual, I suggest you print and then rearrange the pages into their correct order, the Chime info is there.

As to disabling the whole system, I'm afraid that is something we can not help you with for obvious reasons.

Good luck, please come back if you have any other problems.

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

to disable the whole system would need the services of a engineer

this site cannot for security reasons give that info out.

hi mitzy,

chime feature can be disabled with a master user code only, enter code system will ask "set system? so press 'no', if you have the master code you will be able to keep pressing 'no' until display says "set chime?", press 'yes', thendisplay says "chime on Yes?" - press "no",display shows "chime off" press 'yes', then press '0' several times to exit.

if you don't have the master code (i.e. user 1) a competant engineer will be able to restore the default user codes for you, and i'd recommend a maintenance be performed at tthe same time.

Hi,

Guys, thanks for your advice, I appreciate all your posts. I'm not sure if the code I have is the master one but I'll give it a go.

I actually like the chime feature when it's doing it's job properly. The problem I have is that it just goes off randomly at anytime and for no reason, it really is annoying.

cheers

it should display he zone responsible on the keypad for about 20 seconds or so (so you need to be quick )

most likely the front door, side/back door and/or landing, possibly the garage/shed are on the 'chime' setting, i.e. something that needed monitoring, but not full on alarm while the home was ocupied
