BARA Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Hi I am new to grade 3 alarm systems only ever worked on domestic grade 2 systems. Firstly in a commercial building is there a regulation requiring dual techs with anti masking or will just dual techs do? When installing a texecom premier 48 panel is this ok for ARC monitering? When wiring the DT7450 SENSORS. Which way is required. If I make each dual tech and each door contact its own zone do I need to wire with 4 cores or 6? the connectionS is the DT 7450 ARE T T C EOL NC NEG POS Where would I put the EOL resistors?? Any help would be much appreciated

camerabloke Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 DT7450 i think is not a grade 3 detector Eucam Security Systems 0845 4630 746 www.eucam.co.uk
BARA Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 Which signalling option are you planning? a redcare with an external STU for fire aswell as intruder. Im setting the system up on the floor as a trial at home at the moment. Im an apprentice al engineer, year 2 but never done grade 3 before. Working for a new company dont want to look like I dont know what I am doing if they send me out alone.

BARA Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 right - well fire shouldnt be connected to the alarm stu`s anymore, the sensors (all of them) need mask detection but you only need 4 cores per device.you need more training before you even attempt to install this kit Thats why im asking advice Are the connectrions in the DT7450 THE SAME AS IN THE DT7550?? Isnt there a stu that could do this? Does intruder alarm and fire alarm now have to be on independant STUS??

Isnt there a stu that could do this? well obviously not - there`s a mask relay for a start. Like I said this is something you NEED to go through with your employer if you want to know THAT level of detail.

antinode Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 SO DOES THE THE DT7550 NEED 6 CORES? No, you can just fit an extra resistor across the Mask/Fault terminals in the detector and program the zone with the mask attribute (not familiar with the Premier panels to be honest) You really need to have a word with your employer, you should'nt be expected to install a system like this without any training. You say you don't want to look like you don't know what you are doing, but would it not be worse if you got to site and fitted it all wrong and they have to send someone out to put it right?
