meliat Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 you`ll also need to replace the blown fuse on the PCB ............... and find out why it hasnt got 240V AC going to it. Is that the panel?, and I presumme the fuse is inside this? There a electrical shop by mine, I'll go round and see if they have a replacement battery and let you guys knows, nice one.

meliat Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 your going to need the services of an electrician or an alarm engineer ............... Right its working now after replacing the battery, but the tamper light is on, and the power light is off. Do I need a professional to reset is or something?
Chorlton Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Is there 240V at the panel? (do you know how to do this/ have the correct equipment to do it?) Is the fuse in the panel OK? (do you know where it is and how to check it?) If the above is beyond your abilities, you do not understand it -STOP- & get someone round to look at it. C.
shinfieldmonkey Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 sounds to me like the internal fuse in the panel has popped. have you'r upstairs lights fuse blown recently if so sound like a surge when you turned the fuse back on. the tamper light will be you opening up the panel. this can usually be reset by reentering your code Mark Terry A.M.I. hpotter Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Whilst in the house the alarm started making a noise like it why dying, I enter the pin code several times which when it finally accepted it, the whole system died and hasn't worked for months! I have a battery its just not on the pic, or do you mean you suggest I buy a new one, there
meliat Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 Yes, I meant get a new battery. The old one wouldnt of liked being totally drained down.As the power light is off, there are a few things it could be of which the internal mains fuse blown is one of them. There could be no mains getting to the panel in the first place, or the transformer inside the panel burnt out. I think the point we're making is that the problem is on the dangerous voltage side of the alarm system and advising you get a pro to look at it. You wont of wasted money on a new battery, I'm guessing but reckon if problem with mains new battery was needed anyway, problem with panel, battery can be used on new panel. The tamper light is now off, it was on because the panel was not secure to the wall. also it was only powered on by the new battery which obviously ran out last night, so no power is getting the the mains box, so more than likely something on the alarm box has blown, I'll have to get a tech out, any ideas on cost, and recommendations for the Widnes area like yourselves?
