rorton
Sorry for what really seems a dumb question. I am quite a clever chap, but cant get my head around this simple thing... I'll centrally local my alarm panel. I'll position all my accessories (2 x rkp, bell box, mag switch, PIR etc) I run a SINGLE 6 core cable from each accessory back to the panel. Now, i understand i can star, or parallel wire my rkps, just doubling the wires up in the terminals, but i cant get my head around the fact that if i have a PIR on zone 1, and another PIR on Zone 2, and another on Zone 3 and each of them connects to the alarm panel using their black and red wires for alarm (parallel), how to i link the tampers. Im my head im seeing an individual cable going to the PIR, then back out, and into another PIR, which i know isnt the way, so how do i perform the series wiring on the tamper, and does the power series or parallel?? Its using multicore cable where everything isnt star connected which is throwing me, i just cant see it in my head Sorry for the thicko question, but any help appreciated

Tilly
When you finish linking the tampers up, you will (should) have two wires left, which should meter out as a dead short... These two wires go into the tamper terminals.
FASTCAR
Now, i understand i can star, or parallel wire my rkps, just doubling the wires up in the terminals You will need to have the RKP tampers in series..(there are seperate tamper terms for the RKPs). rorton
thanks all, so, if i have a single 6 coare from each device back to the central point, i can connect the black/red to the alarm connections on the zones, and the Gree/Yellow for power, but how will i series wire these in the box? Do i just need a terminal block, and connect the others togther? Out of one, into another and so on? And then add the tampers from thr RKP's into this loop as well? antinode
To series up the tampers (white and blue): Take the blue from the detector on zone 1 and connect it to one of the tamper terminals in the panel. Now take the white from the detector on zone 1 and connect it to the blue from the detector on zone 2. Take the white from the detector on zone 2 and connect it to the blue from the detector on zone 3. Continue this until you end up with one wire left (should be a white one) from the last detector, which will go into the other tamper terminal on the panel. You can put your RKP tampers in this loop in exactly the same way. Trade Member

I have it too easy! Trade Member
