Gooner08 Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Hi there, A friend of mine rang me up recently asking if I could take over his "Tag" alarm. After looking on here I have gathered that this alarm is a castle care-tech euro meridian. After more research I see they have a few different models which can take either Id biscuits or EOL. Is there anyway I can find out which wiring type has been used without having to go to the house and open up the panel as I would like to give a rough estimation of price and time. It's for a friend who lives quite a distance away so was hopeing to get the necessary kit, get up there and do the job in one trip. Any help would be much appreciated...... Thanks
james.wilson Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 afraid not, unless you open a contact to see if it has resistors or buscuits in it. Of course it could be wired in eol of the keypad and the rest be id. Depends how lucky your feeling lol securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
djandysp Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 The Meridian did come before the Euro and after the 2000 series. There arent that many old Meridian panels that used eol, mostly id for ease, bet you a fiver his fobs dont work anymore hehe
Gooner08 Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Didn't think so. anyway. My boss sent me to an "upgrade" a couple of months ago not realising the system I was upgrading was ID. You can imagine my shock when I opened the panel of this 20+ zone alarm to find 2 cables for the zones lol. A 2 day job quoted at just over a grand ended up taking roughly 5 days, and for a reasonable price this nice lady got a brand new install in her 4 floor house. Lucky her
