I don't know about Firefox but if you use a router some have the facility to ban ip/URL addresses? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life is like a box of chocolates, some bugger always gets the nice ones! Gopher Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Never had to do this myself as installed Spybot Search n Destroy and had it protect my HOSTS file it added a load of sites to it which redirect to 127.0.0.1 i.e local loop back if you look at your HOSTS. file it's just a case of putting a line like www.dodgydomain.com 127.0.0.1 or you can try a content blocking addon such as adblock plus which will block anything you tell it to can block whole sites i think http://*.google.*/ would pretty much block google totally.. I have the predecessor to this adblock and it works for me but it's no longer updated where as adblock plus is.. Tools > addons and select "extensions" and click the get extensions link on the bottom right. A-G Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 Thanks Gopher. Someone else suggested something similar too, so I'll give it a try. I'm surprised Firefox doesn't have something built in. IE does. I don't know about Firefox but if you use a router some have the facility to ban ip/URL addresses? I don't think my router has such a facility. . . . PM me for access to the SSAIB members discussion area.
